Miss Universe Fiji Media Statement
Any contestant that’s managed by any of the judges or event organizers to be disqualified by MUF after it completed its investigation into the voting scandal of how the wrong winner was appointed on the night.
Sept 9
As a result of the investigation of the Miss Universe Fiji judging controversy, it was found that only one party appointed the majority of judges, being the now disgraced and terminated beauty pageant organizer, an Australian Grant Dwyer.
He appointed 6 of the 8 judges.
No other individual or party appointed these judges.
This is not in dispute.
However, he also failed to disclose that these judges were all either family, friends, his Fiji Indian Business Partner, or associates, nor his conflict of interest for a particular contestant to win.
He clearly knew exactly how many judges he needed to appoint to ensure the vote went in a predetermined way, but he could still vote otherwise.
It has since also been discovered that Grant Dwyer is the manager of the contestant he wrongly announced as winner on the night of the contest in Fiji.
Despite him having no authority to announce a winner, no authority to stack the judging panel, and no right to racially discriminate against the non-Fijian Indian contestants, he went ahead and announced the runner-up as the winner (nnot even telling other judges of his conflict of interest).
Further evidence was forthcoming of his WhatsApp’s messages, revealing how he and his Fijian Indian business partner would profit from global sponsorship and potential business deals by ensuring a Fijian Indian contestant won.
His Fijian Indian business partner had the deciding vote and voted for Grant Dwyers, the predetermined winner, whom he is currently managing for ongoing sponsorship deals.
The Fiji Indian contestant also stated on her Instagram in recent days that she’s very grateful for her team Grant Dwyer and thanking him for all his efforts to date, thinking it’s ok for it to become public now he is managing her. This is after he made a false media statement in recent days with no authority to speak on behalf of MUF, making out she would be the winner, and having his media contacts wrongly state as such to maximize confusion.
Grant Dwyer was terminated by MUF on Sept 2nd as the event organizer for his misconduct, for bringing the event in disrepute, and was issued a cease and desist letter by MUF to stop making false and misleading statements publicly.
However, since then, he has launched a smear campaign.
in the media against the other contestant and rightful winner, trying to link a millionaire businessman to somehow being involved, to deflect from his vote rigging because of a past relationship, in a desperate attempt to deflect from his vote stacking against the actual winner.
This allegation was investigated and found to be without substance, as only one party selected the 6 judges and only one party refused to count the MUF-appointed judge. No other party had the ability to stack the votes other than Grant Dwyer.
How it came to him being able to deceive MUF to select almost all judges is also under investigation.
All judges he appointed have been invalidated as a result of his conflict of interest.
All 8 judges had to be appointed by MUF.
Grant Dwyer has also been flooding not just his media contacts but also pretending to act as an official spokesperson for MUF and also lobbying MU constantly to desperately get his client reinstated as the winner of MUF 2024 to get the lucrative global sponsorship contracts he promised her.
There were also further serious misconduct issues raised on the night that are subject to a police investigation and, as such, can’t be publicly announced at this stage as the police investigation is ongoing.
MUF notes that event organizers don’t decide who the winners are; however, they are hired to simply run the event; they aren’t to select judges either, as both are roles for MUF.
Grant Dwyer had none, has no official capacity to act on behalf of MUF, and has been informed to immediately stop making promises to contestants or misinforming the media and public.
